"Thousands of people were counting on us to help them," said Nancy Castillo, remembering the tragic events of September 11, 2001. She was director of human resources for Marriott's World Trade Center and Financial Center hotels in New York City when terrorists flew airliners into the twin towers. She and her fellow associates evacuated over 1,000 guests. At Marriott, we remember and honor the two associates who were lost that day, as well as the many other associates who have acted with courage and compassion when faced with a crisis.
